Graphic Design of Paul Auster’s The New York Trilogy

The New York Trilogy is a series of three detective novels interconnected by a network of intertextual references. In the course of action three stories begin to intertwine. Characters who come and go, recurring events and ongoing literary references are no less a mystery than the crime story itself. My graphical interpretation of The Trilogy gives the reader the ability to track these convergences. The code consisting of the volume and page number, markers within text, divided pictures, and cross-references to external sources allow discovering the multilayered nature of Auster’s novels.
