author biographical note degree piece

Syria / Refugees

I was induced to create my degree piece titled Borders by great agitation with the fate of refugees I experienced two years ago during my Munich scholarship. I wanted to present their helplessness and impotence in a formal and conceptual way – in contrast to the information imposed on us by the media. However, after coming back to Poland, while writing the theoretical degree dissertation Minotaur and myself – about my mental disorder and Minotaur mythology, I noticed that the subject matter of my practical work is much broader. It does not only pertain refugees, but more generally, it speaks of the limits and mental and physical limitations we all struggle with.
